Yoga Classes
Start the day with yoga taught by Himalayan Institute staff.

Amazing Food
Three fantastic meals a day based on a tridoshic, Northern Indian, vegetarian model.

Outdoor Recreational Activities
Enjoy guided light hiking on the Institute’s trails and experience the stunning beauty of all four seasons in the Poconos. There is also free time to enjoy the grounds and facility on one’s own, including booking treatments and massages at the health center.

Meditation
The weekend revolves around receiving instruction in meditation fundamentals, practicing meditation techniques, and group discussions.
The Fundamentals of Meditation weekend course consists of instruction in meditation technique, practice sessions, informative discussions, and some light hiking around the beautiful Himalayan Institute grounds. There will also be free time for reading, relaxing, or perhaps getting a massage. By the end of the weekend, you will have an excellent foundation to begin a meditation practice, or improve your existing one.
Accommodations and meals are booked through the Himalayan Institute.
Basic accommodation and meal plan start at $115 per night. Higher end rooms may be available if booked sufficiently in advance.

The Below Course Is Currently Not Scheduled
The Continuing Meditation and Eastern Philosophy course is for regular meditators or those who have already completed the basic weekend course with Wes. Join us Sunday evening through Tuesday lunch for the two day extension. The philosophy portion will consist of an introduction to the Bhagavad Gita, the Yoga Sutras, and the Tao Te Ching. In order to follow along with page references, the following editions will be taught from and are recommended:
Bhagavad Gita – Eknath Easwaren (Blue Cover)
Inside the Yoga Sutras – Reverend Jaganath Carrera
Tao Te Ching – Stephen Mitchell (Pocket Edition)
You can sign up for either the first two days, or the last two days, or all four at a discount, it’s up to you. The basics will not be taught in this course; students joining should be able to meditate with eyes closed, in silence, in some form of seated posture, for at least twenty minutes on their own.
